This land has been in the same family since 1832. It was once used as a cotton farm, and put into pasture in the 60’s. Some of the land was used to grow produce such as sweet potatoes and watermelons that were sold at a roadside stand and in some area grocery stores. Some of the land in the back is terraced for erosion control. For the last decade, the owner has been using it to produce grass fed beef and pork.
 
This land has been pesticide-free for over 10 years, and while not certified, farmed using organic practices. Soils are mostly fine sandy loams and well drained. A building with working walk-in cooler that was used as a roadside produce stand is located near the highway. There is some new fencing installed. There is a small pond in the middle of the property.
 
The 3-bedroom, 2-bath house was built in 1964, with an addition added around 1990. Owner is currently doing some remodeling work, including the addition of a 16 ft. wide front porch that goes the length of the house.
